You will need:
• A Chromebook, laptop, or tablet with a webcam.
• A stable internet connection.
• Access to Google Meet (a meeting link will be emailed to you before the session).
• Any other resources, including links to websites, will be shared either on screen or in the Google Meet chat bar during the session.
Optional: A second device (such as an iPad) can be helpful for controlling interactive music apps while keeping the main screen on the video call.
Lessons take place live via video call (Google Meet). I will demonstrate techniques, listen to your playing, give feedback, and guide you through exercises and pieces, just like in a face-to-face lesson.
I will also use interactive apps, screen sharing, and digital resources to make learning engaging.
Yes. Many students progress just as well online. Online lessons can actually offer extra benefits such as:
• Recorded demonstrations
• Digital resources
• Flexible learning tools
• Learning comfortably from home
If the connection drops:
• Try reconnecting to the call immediately.
• If technical issues continue, I will help rearrange or adjust the session where possible.
Yes. Younger students may just need a parent or adult nearby to help with:
• Setting up the device
• Adjusting the camera
• Assisting with materials during the lesson
Before the lesson:
• Ensure your device is charged and connected to the internet.
• Join the meeting a few minutes early if possible.
Absolutely. Parents are welcome to observe lessons, especially for younger students.
As these are one-off sessions, no formal home learning is assigned. However, participants will still have access to the resources and music apps used during the session, allowing them to continue exploring after the lesson ends.
